Munnar - An escape to the misty tea gardens

Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary Munnar - An escape to the misty tea gardens

Usually Kerala is hot and humid because of its coastal influence but Munnar is like a slice of heaven and ideal for honeymoon trips. Lush greenery is a feast for the eyes and the spectacular view will take your breath away. I have been to Munnar for more than 4 times. But each time I visit, this place never fails to awe and enrapture me in its beauty. There's something unique about this place that draws me to it.

Climate is cold and pleasant even during summer though winters can get a bit harsh. The tea plantations are beautifully set and gives plenty of background for wonderful pictures. The drive up the hill is awesome and gives a good adrenaline rush. Roads are well-maintained and it's better not to drive after sunset as the fog can blur your vision.

All through the drive we took several pit stops to capture the scenic beauty. It was something which we could not stay away from. At each bend of the road there was some beautiful scenery waiting to be captured.

We decided to spend our Honeymoon in Munnar at T & U leisure resort, a quaint place with mesmerizing view. It was a 2 nights 3 days stay and was referred to us by a friend staying in Munnar. An added advantage of this place was that it was just 1 km from Munnar town and all major site seeing places were on this route.

The ambience was perfect for relaxing. It was an apt place to spend some quality time together. Travelling in Munnar after sunset is risky unless you are an adept driver and can handle the fog well. Since we were staying in after sunset the activities like pool table, carroms, chess, camp fire, ayurvedic spa and massage kept us occupied. Their food was one of the best in Munnar and we didnt have to venture out in search of good food. All in all stay at T & U was pretty nice and we were well cared for.
