After checking into the hotel we did a quick freshening up and set out for sightseeing. We had only travelled 150 km from home and were high on energy. We had a light lunch in order to indulge in water activities. Our main aim was to return back to the hotel before 7 pm and avoid the unpredictable blanketing fog. Anytime it can swoop down and bring visibility to zero. Echo-point was the first place we stopped by. As the name suggests this spot produces natural echo that can be heard reverberating from the hills nearby.
Echo Point
This is a perfect picturesque picnic spot that offers a back drop for memorable pictures. It is 15 km from Munnar and on the way to top station, highest point in Munnar(1700m). It is hard to miss this place because of the numerous shops selling souvenirs and collectibles. So it is a perfect spot to relax as well as do a quick shopping for our dear ones back home.

Echo point will surely awaken the child in you and it's fun shouting names and slogans and hearing it echo back. This area is usually bustling with visitors throughout the year and they offer boat riding at a nominal rate. Situated on the banks of a lake, the calmness and serenity of the place is captivating. Even the stillness of the water has a beauty of its own. I got lost in my thoughts when I stared down into the unknown depths of the lake.

The lush green mountains in the backdrop of the lake makes the view all the more alluring. Sometimes a huge crowd can be a turn-off for our experience but once we witness the beauty of the place we will come back for more. Local photographers will pester you for taking photographs so make sure you don't fall prey to their scams.
